Sup people!
So I turned 23 today, started back at work after a three week holiday and just got home from a Rainbow Youth board meeting! Life is busy!
XD
I went down to Christchurch for two weeks, hadn't seen my family in literally a year. Things were awkward as it was three days before anyone mentioned my transition... >_> I was the biiiig elephant in the room. Before the end of my trip I did have a conversation with my Mum and that about at the very least, not using female pronouns and she was all "Yes yes, I know but its really difficult cause you're never here and we don't see you etc." so, on the negative side it'll probably be a few years before they're comfortably using the right pronouns... but on the plus side, they don't seem to have as much unhappiness around the whole matter that I previously thought.
I think it was my older sisters views colouring what I perceived to be theirs.
Life-drawing will start back at Freelance on the 17th of February! So if you're in the Auckland area and want to increase you're people drawing skills, sign up pronto!
Had a really good New Years since I've never properly celebrated it. Drank a lot, sung Time Warp for karaoke with my mates Brendan and Marcus and crashed at Brendan's apartment after staying up til round 5am.
My flatmate and I shared a party at Kamo on Saturday night. She left for Thailand early this morning for her big operation that she's been saving up for, for four years. (not sure if that's correct grammar but anyway...) so I'm really happy for her!
Last but not least, as I facilitate Gender Quest for Rainbow Youth, if you are having any thoughts on the matter and you're in the Auckland region, feel free to e-mail me and I'll do my best to answer any questions you might have and help direct you to anything you might need. If you're keen, come along to our monthly meeting (I can message you that info)

Even if you're not in Auckland, we've got pretty good contacts all around the country and should be able to help you out still!
*goes back to watching Twilight Rifftrax*
PS: Thats by the guys who did Mystery Science Theatre 3000, so don't be mortified at the idea that I'm watching Twilight! lol See some of it on YouTube, I recommend watching the Rifftrax of X-Men XD
